President Uhuru Kenyatta has taken the voter registration sensitization campaign to Garissa County, urging the locals to ensure they are registered before the deadline day.
During his tour to Garissa County today, Monday, the president urged the locals to maintain peace and stability during the campaign periods and on the Election Day.
“Let us live peacefully with one another and do our campaigns in a peaceful manner. Let us also maintain peace during August elections,” said the President.
He further told the residents to work closely with the security personnel and report anything that can threaten the security of the nation.
"The security officers are to protect us and I would like you to work with them and report to them what can disrupt the security of our nation," added the President.
The leaders have been crisscrossing the country to sensitise Kenyans on the importance of registering as voters, in an exercise that kicked off on Monday, last week.
