Information Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i has called on the public to work hand in hand with the police to ensure adequate security in their residential areas.
Dr Matiang'i was speaking at Mecheo Seventh day Adventist church in Borabu constituency, Nyamira County where he graced a fundraiser to help build the church.
He asked Kenyans to unite and work with the police so as to bring an end to the blame that has always been put on the police.
“I want to call on the people of this great nation to come together and help the police in their efforts to stop terror attacks in the country,” he said.
Matiang’i asked the residents to help the police by sharing with them any information they might have with them and also asked them to at least make sure they know who their neighbours are.
The ICT cabinet secretary also condemned the chaos that were witnessed in parliament during the passing of the newly security laws of 2014 and called on all leaders to have respect among themselves.
“Give the police that little information you have don’t keep it to yourself and make sure you know the people that live around you. Our leaders I want ask you to have respect for one another, what we saw happening in parliament is not welcome in the society,” said Matiang’i.
