Mogotio Member of Parliament Prof. Hellen Sambili has finally decamped from KANU to Jubilee Party after several months of speculation.
Her exit is seen as a major blow to KANU party leader and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, as he looks to tighten his grip on Baringo County.
Speaking on Thursday at the Deputy President William Ruto's residence in Karen where she was officially received to the Jubilee Party, Sambili said her decision to ditch KANU was informed after wide consultations with her supporters.
“I have come here today and I want to assure you your Excellency the Deputy President that I will work with the Jubilee Government and even in Parliament I will side with the Jubilee administration,” she said.
Also present during Sambili's defection was Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.
