NASA Presidential candidate Raila Odinga has suffered a major blow after two key Opposition figures ditched him for Jubilee Party’s Uhuru Kenyatta.

The two, former Narok West MP Patrick Ntutu and former Ministry of Information Communication and Technology PS Joseph Tiampati, were NASA’s point men in Narok County and at large in the Maa community.

This means that if the politician’s supporters move with them to Jubilee, Raila’s quest to dislodge Uhuru from power will be highly dented.

Ntutu and Tiampati garnered a combined of over 133,000 votes in the race to unseat the incumbent Narok Governor Samuel Tunai of Jubilee in last month poll.

Ntutu ran on Isaac Ruto’s Chama Cha Mashinani(CCM) whileTiampati vied on Raila’s ODM party ticket.

While welcoming the two, Tunai exuded confidence that Uhuru will get a resounding victory in the fresh presidential election slated for next month.

“I thank my brothers Ntutu and Tiampati for agreeing to support us. Since the August elections, we have had all those who lost coming back to Jubilee and we welcome them to the winning team. President Uhuru will win by a landslide this time round,” Tunai said, as quoted by the Standard on Wednesday.

The politicians promised to campaign for the Jubilee candidate to ensure he defeats Raila with a huge margin.

“We have agreed to bury the hatchet and work together to ensure Uhuru gets over 90 per cent in Narok County,” said Ntutu.
