The recent shisha ban imposed by Health CS Cleopa Mailu has received a major blow after users of the product moved to court to stop it.
Fifteen traders and smokers of shisha moved to court to challenge the ban on Friday as reported by the Star.
They filed their urgent application at the Milimani High Court and accused Mailu for making an irregular decision.
The traders argued that the decision to ban the product was detrimental to their business and accused the CS of not consulting them before imposing the sanctions.
They also termed the ban as discriminative.
Together they want the court to suspend the ban until the case is heard and determined.
In the last one year, shisha has gained a lot of smokers in Nairobi especially among ladies.
