Dr. Otuoma who lost to Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong in the ODM  nominations in April decamped from the party to contest for the county gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate failed in his bid to oust the incumbent during the August 8 polls.

After ditching the Orange party and subsequently losing in last month's contest, Dr.Otuoma played his cards close to his chest with his followers left guessing on his next political move.

But it was his decision to declare support for Uhuru that gave indications that the former Cabinet Minister was warning to Jubilee- a move that he has officially finalized today in an event presided over by Deputy President William Ruto who toured Funyula constituency.

In an event, former Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba who engineered a revolt out of ODM in 2016 was conspicuously present. Also in the meeting was Water and Irrigation Minister Eugene Wamalwa.

Busia County is a key NASA stronghold. But having garnered over 30,000 votes in the August 8 polls and with the defection of Otuoma to Jubilee, President Uhuru Kenyatta will be hoping for a better return during the October 17 contest.
