Just days after confirming that CEO Ezra Chiloba will be in charge of the October 17 repeat elections,

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairman Wafula Chebukati is set to announce changes in the team to manage the election.

It is expected that Chebukati will outline the key roles of the Project Team as well as those of the Secretariat so as to avoid clashing of tasks in the repeat poll.

Through the changes, members of the Project Team will now report to a steering committee that will comprise commissioners and which will be steered by Chebukati.

“Everyone is engrossed in realising tasks and making October 17 tenable. They (project team) were part of a three-day planning team involving county managers,” said IEBC communications manager Andrew Limo as quoted by the Nation.

This week, Chebukati named Deputy CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan the project coordinator with Sidney Namulungu as part of the team.

The changes could also see Nancy Kariuki named in charge of logistics while Bernard Misati Moseti goes to head the training department.

Albert Gogo will assume the helm of ICT where he will work directly under the chairman.

The new set up will also see Silas Rotich become head of the national tallying centre while Salome Oyugi takes over the legal services department.

According to the Nation, Chebukati will announce these changes after meeting President Kenyatta’s and Raila Odinga’s teams early next week.
