The National Police Service has on Tuesday conducted a major reshuffle in police command lines in a bid meant to improve security across the most volatile counties.
According to a statement released on Tuesday, Garissa and Mombasa counties had their commanders moved from their areas that have recently witnessed increasing criminal acts.
"They new commanders have been posted to Mombasa and Garissa counties to help in managing the all time insecurity incidents that are visibly fluctuating," read a statement released on Tuesday.
Manase Musyoka is now the new Garissa County Police Commander.
Other senior officers affected in the reshuffle include Mr Joseph Muthee, the Rift Valley traffic boss, OCPDs Tom Atuti of Kiambu, Stephen Cheteka of Changamwe, Joshua Omukata of Nakuru, Hussein Arur of Kirinyaga East and Justus Kitetu of Kericho.
Nairobi CID boss Mr Nicholas Kamwende named as the new Coast Regional Coordinator on February 7, has been recalled in another phase of the major reshuffle.
