Major (Rtd) John Seii has welcomed his inclusion in a 14-member team that will spearhead unity talks following a surprise meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Seii who spoke in Eldoret town on Monday said it was an honor to be included in the team.
He said his first mandate will ensure that all Kenyans are brought together regardless of their political or tribal affiliation.
“I want to thank President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga for believing in me and I promise that I will discharge my duties to the best of my knowledge,” said Major (Rtd) Seii.
“I am really saddened every now and then when Kenyans fight during the electioneering period, we will work as a team to ensure that this is a thing of the past since we are all Kenyans and can reside at any place in the country,” he added.
Seii who have been instrumental in preaching peace and unity amongst communities living in the North Rift noted that Kenyans should not at all means have tension during the electioneering period since it is their right to choose leaders of their choice.
He also called upon Kenyans across the country to live as brothers and sisters regardless of their political or tribal affiliation expressing the need to avoid politicians who want to cause divisions for selfish gains.
