The Kenya Defence Forces have made major changes among its high ranking officers ahead of President Kenyatta’s inauguration ceremony on Tuesday.
Charles Gituai, a major general, is now in charge of the western wing of the Kenya Defence Forces after being the chief of staff at the East African standby force.
Colonel David Obonyo has been appointed to be in charge of affairs at the Department of Defence in Nairobi. He doubles up as the official spokesman of the military.
Maj-Gen Gituai replaced Major George Owino who was also doubling up as the commandant of the Kenya Military Academy.
The forces are in their last touches to prepare president Kenyatta’s swearing-in on Tuesday at the Kasarani Stadium.
