Peter Munya now seeks to withdraw his gubernatorial election petition against Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi.

The former governor had filed a petition challenging Kiraitu's win in the August 8 poll.

Jubilee Party leader president Uhuru Kenyatta had asked Munya, the PNU chairman to withdraw the petition, after he declared support for his re-election, during a campaign rally in the county.On Monday Munya the High Court in Meru gave him up to December 4 to file an application, after he asked it to allow him to withdraw the application.Addressing the press outside the court Munya said his decision was arrived at, to allow Kiraitu ample time to work for Meru residents.
