Kiambu county deputy governor Gerald Githinji has called on the National Government to arrest and question the majority leader of the National Assembly Aden Duale who had said that he knew who financed the Garissa Attacks.
Githinji who was speaking during the commissioning of the construction of Githunguri town roads on Sunday said that the national government should withdraw the favours of the majority leader and take him into custody.
The deputy governor said that Kenya was in dire need of answers for the criminals who killed nearly 150 students and injured more than 70 in the Garissa Attacks. Githinji pointed out that the government didn’t have the luxury of letting Duale free.
Githinji expressed his concerns on growing insecurity, challenging the national government to leave no stone unturned and that this needed to start with Duale.
The deputy county boss said that poor security in Kenya has led to many consequences in terms of economic stability since investors are pulling away from the country thus leading to unemployment and poor economic stability.
He said that the number of tourists visiting Kenya had dropped drastically, reducing foreign exchange in the country. Githinji said that this was causing economic retardation considering that tourism is among the major economic influences in the country.
Githinji has hailed the president of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta for acting diligently in expediting and the recruitment of 10,000 security personnel. He said that this move could have been done as ‘early as yesterday’.
Githinji has called on the Kenyans to be vigilant on who is our neighbours are in order to help tame outcasts who bring trouble in the country.
