Makadara MP, Benson Mutura, has opened a hand ball court funded by Makadara Constituency Development Fund.

The handball court was constructed at a cost of 3 million shillings, coming hot on the wheels of Camp Toyoyo which was built at the cost of sh 50 million.

Mutura while handing over the facility to the care of the local community urged stakeholders to employ a business approach to sport. Sports related employment is on the rise globally; players, promoters, managers, sports journalists, agents, stewards and technicians.

He encouraged the youth to take advantage of the facility to showcase their talents and expand their employment opportunities. Sports put all participants on equal footing enabling them to transcend all differences outside of skill.

The sports facility is expected to host local and school matches and generate foot traffic  to the area encouraging the youth to engage in positive activities. Its location in Kaloleni is strategic as it borders the City Stadium and can be used for hire when the stadiums capacity is booked to capacity.
