Veteran journalist and political analyst David Makali, who has been offering consultancy services to the IEBC as a communication adviser, has terminated his engagement with the Commission.
According to a press release by the commission on Friday, Makali quit due to a conflict of interest arising from his other engagements.
"This follows a mutual agreement between Mr. Makali and IEBC that considered his other engagements that may be perceived as conflict of interest in relation to the mandate of the Commission. The Commission appreciates Mr Makali’s professional contribution and wishes him all the best in his new endeavors," read part of the release.
The electoral body commissioners are under intense pressure to quit with the opposition coalition Cord insisting that they lack the moral pedestal to oversee the 2017 polls.
