The Mavoko parliamentary seat seems to be a Wiper party reserve if the votes counted by 3am are anything to go by.
Kalonzo Musyoka’s party candidate, Patrick Makau, has 41,843 against Jubilee’s Kalembe Ndile, who has garnered 14,135. ODM’s Michael Mutuku had 7,852 total votes.
Mutuku’s resounding lead was expected after NASA leader Raila Odinga asked his party candidate Michael Mutuku to step down for Wiper’s Makau. The former denied amid protests by his supporters and promised to meet Kalonzo’s candidate on the ballot.
Former MP Kalembe Ndile is the Jubilee candidate battling out with Wiper party. He has been a staunch supporter of President Uhuru Kenyatta. This saw him appointed as one of the chief campaigners in Ukambani for Uhuru’s second term in office.
