Youths in Kibera have been urged to focus on investing their hard earned money in Saccos, banks and investment projects in order to help them secure a better future.

Speaking Friday in her office, Chief Christine Litsewa condemned youths who are not taking advantage of the various Saccos and youth groups in the area which benefit a lot of young bright minded residents in Kibera in payment of fees, rent and also capital for business start-ups.

"We have many young bright people in Kibera who have the potential to live better lives and also investing their money wisely but most of them end up ignoring these various investment schemes and groups," said Litsewa.

She added that most businessmen in the area focus only on getting quick money and later on wasting it without knowledge of re-investing it back.

"You will find that a lot of businesses never last even more than three months here, due to the lack of knowledge in investment, many of our youths revert to drink alcohol and abuse drugs with money that can help them in the future," she said.

Chief Litsewa said the society is at risk due to lack of focus and proper management of money, and urged the youth to think ahead in order to boost the country's economy.
