Former Garissa mayor Mohamed Gabow has said that Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho should be included National Super Alliance (NASA) as a principal ahead of the August General polls.
Gabow said that NASA lacks a national outlook, adding that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) deputy Leader Joho should join the pentagon team in order to represent the interests of the Muslim community as we head to the August polls.
The aspirant claims that by excluding Muslims from the alliance top leadership, it means that the religious group is being considered a minority, which is not the case.
“By leaving out Joho from the main NASA structure, it means the coalition treats Muslims as a minority group with no value to it,” Gabow said, as quoted by Star.
The aspirant further claims that the alliance is mainly made up of leaders from Western Kenya except for Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka who hails from Eastern part of the nation.
“Apart from Kalonzo, all the others in the NASA top brass come from the Western region. The NASA structure lacks the face of Kenya and every right-thinking Kenyan should reject it,” he added.
Meanwhile, leaders of the alliance have embarked on a mission to rally the electorate behind Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga as he seeks to ascend to power in the forthcoming general polls. Raila will be contesting for the nation’s top seat for the last time.
