Health officers in Kisii county have been advised to make sure that there are drugs in all health facilities.
This comes after the residents complained of the lack drugs in health facilities despite the fact that the centers were supplied with drugs.
Speaking at Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital on Monday during the flagging off drugs, Governor James Ongwae warned all health officers that his administration cannot condone the trend where drugs, keep on disappearing mysteriously from the health centers.
"This is quite funny when you find our health facilities are lacking drugs just after receiving them," said Ongwae.
"I would like to advise all health officers to make sure that the drugs are maintained in health centers,” added Ongwae.
In addition, he said that the county government will set up measures on the introduction of a computerised method of supplying drugs to all facilities centers to curb the menace of drugs disappearing mysteriously.
“We don’t want to hear that there is a lack of drugs in our facilities centres since today we have received them and they are going to all health centers across the county,” added ongwae.
He also said that it will be so embarrassing for the county to receive drugs which are meant to help the residents who unfortunately do not get them when visiting the centers.
The health chairman from the county committee, Monyenye Yoge who accompanied the governor assured residents that now there are enough drugs an all health facilities in the county
