[Photo|Makueni County Governors' Press Service]A total of 53 candidates who sat for the 2017 KCPE from needy families across as Makueni County will now attend national schools of their choice without a worry about fees. This is after the County government awarded them full secondary school scholarships.Wambua Mwania of Nguumo ward is one of the beneficiary of the initiative. He scored 409 marks but his ailing parents were unable to raise fees for his admission in Makueni Boys School. His admission and fees for four years is now secured.The 53 beneficiaries were awarded cheques for their first full year fees by Governor Kivutha Kibwana and deputy Adelina Mwau on Monday."The County government has since 2013 awarded scholarships to 172 pupils from poor backgrounds, covering their full secondary education," said Kibwana.
