Kibwana said the reports on a section of media that he is on the verge of quitting Wiper are misleading.

Speaking to journalists in  Makueni town on Thursday, the Wiper governor said he has not threatened to quit Wiper as has been reported.

According to Kibwana, he only raised concerns on how some leaders are being treated in the Kalonzo led party.

“Reports doing round in some media outlets that I am abandoning Kalonzo to join Jubilee  are misleading and should be ignored,” Kibwana said.

Kibwana said his support for Kalonzo is unwavering.

He, however, maintained that Ukambani has to remain united ahead of 2022 polls.

Kibwana said statements being made by some politicians in the region are likely to kill the region's unity and chances of Kalonzo succeeding president  Uhuru Kenyatta.

On Sunday , while addressing residents in Makindu, Kibwana accused some Wiper politicians of disrespecting other members of the party.

He said politicians who folded their parties to join Wiper are being insulted, a move he said could weaken Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid.

Kibwana is among the Ukambani's experienced politicians who are supporting Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid.
