Kilonzo has put the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) on the spot following deaths of the eight passengers and two crew members who died in Cessna CS208 plane operated by FlySax company that crashed in Njambini, Aberdares area.

He said the authority should shed more light on what caused the deaths.

"As we mourn the death of the pilots and passengers, Kenya Civil aviation must disclose the manner in which the plane was diverted into a death trap. The disappearance from the radar is a weak excuse. May their souls Rest In Peace," tweeted Kilonzo.

There have been different accounts of what could have led to the crashing of the plane.

The families of the victims have, however, thanked the government for the support they have been accorded following the tragedy.

"We cannot speak much during this time. We thank the Government for assisting us that despite the bad weather they were able to get the bodies," said Eric Wanyonyi, whose son Robinson Wanyonyi was among those who died on the plane following the incident.

The senator’s remarks come after the victims' bodies were successfully identified on Friday.
