Shock has hit Tirioko Ward in Tiaty sub-county, Baraingo County, after six children died ater suffering from a mysterious disease.
The area has no physical hospital so the children died having not received any medication.
A lab technician at Kapau shopping center has been forced to carry out the roles of a medical doctor to save the lives on tens of people who frequent the facility exhibiting Malaria symptoms
He says close to 2000 out of 5000 people are showing signs of the complication. Sam Lokales, a County assembly member said there is a shortage of medical practitioners. He stated that out of 400 hundred people who visit the facility, only 100 were served.

A lab technician at Kapau health center said he has been forced to turn doctor to the many patients. He said on average, 20 patients come to the facility for treatment, adding the sick persons he has attended to are exhibiting malaria symptoms.
Residents have faulted the County government for not being sensitive to their needs. They said that sometimes they have to travel to Kapenguria, West Pokot County to seek medication.
Following the death of six children in a week, a team of medical experts has been sent to assess the situation
