Nine people have died after suffering  Malaria in Tirioko ward, Tiaty in Baringo county in the last 5 days.

According to residents, those who have died failed to get medical treatment in time and others died on their way to hospital.

The most affected villages are Kapau, Chesawach, Tayier, Gulel, Akoret and Kongor.

Kapau location chief Sadaam Kalale said the nine deaths were reported in Kongor village alone.

"I have been informed that 9 people, women and children have died in Kongor village after they were diagnose of malaria and the situation is getting worse since more deaths may occur as many people have been attacked," said Kalale.
