The Parliamentary Committee on Housing has recommended that Malindi Airport receives a whooping Sh1.5 billion in the 2017/2018 Financial Year (FY), to facilitate ongoing expansion works.

Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) had earlier said the works would cost a total of Sh6.6 billion, with the Committee revealing Sh438 million in the 2016/2017 FY.

Committee members including MPs, Peter Shehe (Ganze), Lomulokol Lomunokoi Mark (Kacheliba), Maalim Mahamud (Mandera West) among others, toured the Airport, Friday, to inspect the progress of the works.

The MPs were impressed with the expansion works, saying the ultramodern terminal was already complete.
