Janet Nderitu the Director of Lechateau Bed and breakfast a registered castle which offers accommodation services for tourists had gone to Malindi police station to report a case of a Nigerian man called Raph Bari who allegedly refused to pay for his accommodation.

Further it is alleged that Nigerian tourist reportedly came with a lady without paying for her in his room which is against the rules.

Ms. Nderitu said she came back in the afternoon and found him with a woman in his room and had not paid for her which was against the rules.

“I told her to either pay for the lady or else I would kick her out because outside guests are not supposed to be in the rooms,’’ she said.

Ms Nderitu reportedly called the Sentry response security guards who kicked the woman out of the premise.

When the businesslady went to  report the incident to the police station  they instead threatened to arrest her for being a con woman.

She said the officer in charge of tourist police later called her and threatened to arrest her for operating a cam tourism business. Ms. Nderitu said she now fears for her life as police were protecting the Nigerian man.

“Where can I get help from if the police who are supposed to protect me are frustrating me, what if the Nigerian was a terrorist?" she asked.

Currently she still demands to be paid her money for the five days which was to be 175 dollars and another equal amount for the woman who had stayed with him in the hotel.

Malindi OCPD Matawa Muchangi said he was aware of the report saying the business lady had a misunderstanding with the Nigerian man on the first day and she threw him out.

“We are investigating the matter to establish the truth, in two or three days we shall know what really happened,’’ he said.
