(Photo/Cyprian Muthoka/hivisasa.com)Machakos county deputy Governor engineer Francis Maliti has called on public Matatu drivers to drive safely to avoid loss of lives through road accidents especially during this festive season.Maliti shared the sentiments during Jamhuri day celebrations at Machakos county stadium as Kenyans all over commemorated 54 years of independence as a country.Maliti urged public matatu drivers to be extra careful as they ferry passengers from one point to another."A lot of lives are lost during the festive season. It is high time that drivers need to value their lives and of others. Let us be careful in our roads," said Maliti.He further reiterated his support for the National Transport and safety awareness campaign against drunk driving saying it will help save lives.Attention has been shifted to the high rise of road accidents across the country due to careless driving and drunkenness.
