Five months ago, the county government adopted a nutrition plan which it allocated a total of Sh52,144,127 out of Sh708,314,791 needed to successfully fund nutrition programmes in the county with a time frame set to run for two consecutive years.

Daily lives of the residents are frequently interrupted by inter-clan feuds making it difficult for residents to venture into a viable nutrition program.

In terms of climatic changes, the unpredictability of short end rains has hindered them from adopting a regular farming culture that can avail required food supplements like vegetables and fruits.

The county government and humanitarian organisations working in the area say that with the current political tolerance in the region, the battle against malnutrition may finally bear fruits.
