Kitui governor Dr Julius Malombe has launched a scathing attack on Senator David Musila and National Assembly minority leader Francis Nyenze for opposing the National Super Alliance (NASA) lineup ahead of the August General polls.
Malombe rubbished Musila and Nyenze’s claims that the Kamba community was given a raw deal in the alliance.
The county boss, who spoke to the press at the Kitui Kefri centre on Monday, said that Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga and Wiper Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka combination is good for the entire nation.
The governor urged the residents of this part of the nation to back Raila for Presidency in this year and wait for 2022 to back Kalonzo to rise to power.
“We will support him as deputy president and the presidential candidate in 2022 as Raila will not contest then,” the Kitui boss said, as quoted by the Star.
Nyenze had argued that the NASA will not find it easy to convince voters from Ukambani to back Raila as he contests for Presidency after he failed to honor the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Wiper and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
NASA leaders have however affirmed that they will remain united until President Uhuru Kenyatta leaves power.
