Kitui Governor Julius Malombe has said that he is prepared to battle it out for the Wiper Party ticket with Senator David Musila ahead of the August election.
Speaking at Kyangunga Africa Inland Church in Mulango ward, Kitui Central, Malombe said that he will trounce Musila during the party primaries as he seeks to retain the post.
The governor also took a swipe at the Senator saying that he doubts whether he has what it takes to manage the resources of Kitui County if elected the next boss.
The outspoken governor also challenged Musila to inform the electorate what makes him to think that he is the best replacement for him.
According to Malombe, Musila is “too old” to manage the resources in the county as well as deal with the challenges that come with governorship.
Malombe also vowed not to be manipulated by Wiper MPs who have been on his neck for months asking him for favors.
On his part, Musila is confident that age will not bar him from delivering in the event that he is elected. Former Lands Minister Charity Ngilu has also expressed her interest in the seat.
