In an interview on Musyi FM on Monda, Malombe said that his government has improved local’s lives through the provision of quality healthcare, clean water, employment and infrastructure development in the last four years of devolution.

According to Malombe, his government has achieved 90 per cent of the development pledges he promised locals on 2013.

Malombe said that another five-year term will enable to him complete development projects his government has started.

“I have kept the promise and delivered on the pledges I made in 2013 and I once again beg residents to endorse my re-election on August 8,” he said during the interview.

Malombe dismissed critics questioning his development track record saying that they are jealous.

He claimed that competitors eyeing to unseat him have no development agenda for the people.

Malombe, who is vying on Wiper Party ticket, said that his rivals worked for many years in the national government and brought nothing to the locals.

Malombe is facing stiff competition in his re-election bid from Senator David Musila and former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu.

Musila who lost the Wiper ticket to Malombe is vying as an independent candidate while Ngilu is contesting on her Narc party.

Ngilu and Musila have both expressed confidence of winning the seat claiming that they have enough numbers to send Malombe home.
