Kitui Governor Julius Malombe has insisted that he will floor Former Lands Minister Charity Kaluki Ngilu and Senator David Musila during Wiper Party nominations, reports the Star.

Addressing a group of his supporters at the Medical Training College in Mwingi, Malombe said that the two leaders are no threat to his candidature as he seeks to defend his seat.

The incumbent governor, who was speaking to more than 5000 residents, said that he will floor the duo with a huge margin before clinching the seat in August.

Mwingi Professionals member Campbell Munyambu said that the current county boss deserves another term in office because he initiated various projects in the region.

He also took a swipe at Ngilu and Musila for doing little to change the lives of the residents despite having served in the government for many years.

“Now that they can witness developments, they have sleepless nights but rest assured that we are re-electing Malombe with no doubt since we can’t trust them at all. Some are even too old for the governor’s seat,” said Munyambu.

His sentiments were reiterated by Central MCA Benard Sila who said Malombe is still the best bet for the county.
