A man on Friday was charged at Eldoret court for defiling a schoolgirl aged 16.
The court heard that the accused defiled the minor between August 11 and November 26 in Roadblock estate in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu county.
The accused is said to have locked the girl in his house for four months as her parents were searching for her.
The parents had reported her missing to police officers who started hunting for the suspect.
The officers rescued the minor from the suspect's house.
The minor looked weak and in pain when she was rescued and has since been admitted to hospital in Eldoret for treatment.
He denied the rape charge before Eldoret chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa.
The accused was released on a Sh100,000 bond and a surety of similar amount.
