A middle-aged father accused defiling his 14-year-old daughter throughout a year has denied the charges at a Nakuru court.
Appearing before Principal Magistrate Joe Omido on Monday, the suspect was accused of defiling the minor on different occasions between March 19, 2016 and March 16, 2017 at his house in Ramwe village, Nakuru County.
According to prosecutors, the man who had been staying with the girl gave death threats if she leaked the secret.
The court was told that neighbours reported the matter to police after getting suspicion from the girl's behaviour.
The prosecution opposed his request to be released on bond and asked for more time to make a response on whether he (suspect) deserves bond.
“Since the victim is the accused’s daughter, I need time to get proper information on whether we should oppose the bail or not,” said the prosecutor.
The case will be mentioned next on Tuesday.
