A man who allegedly assaulted a minor in Kebirigo, Nyamira county will be arraigned in court on Monday.
Addressing the press on Sunday in Nyamira town, area OCPD Rico Ngare said the suspect, Victor Maragi, 30, is in Nyamira police custody and he would be charged on sodomy.
OCPD Ngare said the seven year old boy who is said to have been sodomized was receiving treatment at Nyamira hospital.
Meanwhile, Kebirigo residents have called on stern step be taken against a suspected man for sodomizing boy.
The suspect escaped death on a whisker when angry mob attacked him as he was doing the heinous act. He was rescued by the police.
The suspect was found by neighbors forcibly engaging in the unusual sexual act with the boy, the neighbors raised alarm attracting angry mob who wanted to lynch him.
“We want him to be jailed because what he was doing is totally unacceptable and abomination in our culture. Otherwise he must be lucky, he could be killed by the angry mob. We have had suspects freed for lack of evidence and therefore we tell the police that if they fail to prosecute the suspect, we will take law on our hands,” a resident of Kebirogo who did not want to be identified.
