A man from Ukambani has faulted his son, step daughter and a member of the county of burying his wife without his consent.
Speaking to the Nairobian, Antony Mwenga Mavua, 69, said that his son Pius Mutua Mwenga, step-daughter Magdalene Mukami Mwenga and Joseph Kalunde, the MCA of Mutituni/Ngelani ward had burried his wife secretly and they were hatching a plot to take his property.
Jedidah Wamaitha Kinyanjui, who is said to have sired three children with Mavua, died on December 19, 2015.
Her body overstayed at the Machakos Funeral Home before the three came to pick the same for burial.
Mavua claims that he sired with the deceased three children namely Anastacia Kalondu, Mathew Mwenga and Pius Mutua after legally marrying in 1956.
The man recalls buying a piece of land and planting coffee as well as buying cattle after marrying Jedida before things started to fall apart.
“I was living in the house until 1978, when I was transferred by the government to Kilifi County while working as pharmacist, and left my wife in charge of the homestead,” says Mavua in documents presented at the Machakos Chief Magistrate’s Court, as quoted by Standard Digital.
He added: “It is while returning to my home after retirement in 1993 that I found out that my wife had sold all the cattle and abandoned the coffee plantation.”
He further claimed that his son-in law wrote him a letter saying that he will be arrested if he dares to appear at the home.
