A man who was allegedly beaten to death by an Assistant Chief (Patrick Kiarie) together with another man last week in Gatundu South, will be laid to rest today (Monday).
The family of the deceased man, Paul Gachuhi laments that the administrator and his co-perpetrator are still at large despite there being evidence to implicate them with Gachuhi's murder.
Gachuhi's father James Njoroge said that the Police have done nothing so far since they reported the matter to them.
"The suspects are still with us and I am wondering why the Police have not taken any action,” said Njoroge at his Karinga home on Monday.
"I am feeling a lot of pain that a government officer can do such a heinous crime and nothing is done about it. Who will protect us if a chief could participate in killing a people he is suppose to guard,” added Njoroge.
The deceased's sister Wambui Njoroge alleged that the assistant chief was overheard bragging that he cannot be arrested because he has a 'crown'.
The area sub-county Commissioner Ngumo Karuko had last week promised that a stern action will be taken against the administrator, but so far nothing has been done according to the decease father.
