A 35-year-old drug seller was last night ambushed with 31 rolls of bhang by community policy officers from Mumbuni location in Machakos County.
The officers got some information from the residents about the suspected drug dealer and invaded his home together with Nyumba Kumi initiative officers.
The assistant chief for Kasinga sub-location, Robin Wambia, confirmed the incident and said that although the suspect managed to escape through the window, they have launched a search for him.
“The man managed to escape through the window when he heard that the officers were already in his compound," the administrator said.
"We found 31 rolls of bhang in his house which the suspect [he] was preparing to sell to other people.”
The assistant chief added that many youths have been using bhang and as a result dropping out of school. He urged residents to cooperate in order to curb the use of bhang and other illegal drugs in the area.
“Many youths have not been able to continue with their education due to drug abuse which has been in the raise in this area. I urge parents to advice their children on matters of drug abuse to enable them to continue with their education and residents should report any person who sells the drugs to the police,” Robin said.
