A-middle-aged businessman in Moronyo village in Bahati sub-county has appealed for help from the government and residents to help him trace his wife and 2-year-old daughter who went missing last Sunday.
Caleb Njuguna who operates a posho-mill at Wanyororo business centre while talking to this writer at the centre on Tuesday, said his wife and child left home on Sunday morning to attend a church service in Maili Sita, some two kilometres away from his home, but never returned.
“I left for work at around ten o’clock after my wife and daughter had left earlier to attend church service in Maili Sita. When I came back in the evening at around 8pm, I did not find anyone at home. Up to this moment I have no idea what might have gone wrong. I am very worried,” said Njuguna.
He said he has reported the matter to Bahati Police Station and the area Chief and sub-chief and also the Maili Sita Deliverance Church where his 26-year-old wife Monica Wamboi and daughter Mercy Nyambura were last seen.
Njuguna added that he has contacted all her relatives but no one seem to know his family’s whereabouts.
“I am very stressed and I appeal to the government and fellow residents to assist me trace my family,’’ said Njuguna.
The area Chief Francis Kariuki confirmed the incident and added that he had since circulated information about the missing persons to members of the public and to police.
“I received the complaint from Njuguna and I have since published and circulated the matter. We hope for the best in tracing the missing persons,’’ said Kariuiki adding that the businessman’s wife could have possibly left him following domestic problems.
