A suspected thug was on Thursday arraigned in Kibera magistrate’s court and charged with robbery with violence.
John Ochieng was charged with robbing a CID police officer, Jonah Kimanzi Nzau of his Ceska pistol which was loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition valued at Sh58,000.
Ochieng allegedly committed the crime on June 13, 2015, jointly with others not before the court at Ngong road.
The court heard that the assailants were armed with an AK47 rifle, axes and metal bars which they used to fatally wound the officer.
However, Ochieng denied the charges while appearing before Principal Magistrate, Phillip Ombwa.
The prosecution, while objecting his release, prayed for more time to consolidate the present case with a pending criminal case.
The court heard that the Ochieng has been wanted since January 2015 after jumping bail of Sh1 million.
