A middle-aged man was arraigned in Kithimani law courts on Monday for defiling a fourteen-year-old girl.

The accused named Samuel Muia appeared before Resident Magistrate Gilbert Sikwe where he denied the charges levelled against him. 

According to the prosecution, the accused was arrested after committing the act on August 25, 2916 in Iviani area Kithimani location, Yatta sub-county, Machakos county. 

The accused is said to have lured the young girl and defiled her. The judge asked the accused to pay a cash bail of Sh100,000 or a personal bond of Sh200,000 with a surety of the same amount or continue to be remanded while the case is ongoing. 

The case was set to be heard on November 3, 2016. The accused was released after paying the bond.
