A 26-year-old man, Gregory Achola is being held at Bondo police station after he allegedly hacked his friend Daniel Owuor, 25, on the neck to death with a machete.
Area assistant chief Walter Omolo confirmed that Gregory had visited his friend and found him fighting his mother threatening to kill her.
Chief Omolo reported that Daniel had cut her mother's left arm with the machete and this prompted Gregory to get into the war.
Unfortunately, he got injured too and with the fury, he snatched the machete from Daniel and hacked his neck killing him on the sport.
Speaking to Radio Ramogi on Saturday, the chief confirmed that the man fled the area after the incident and was later arrested at around 2:00 am in Bar-Ogong’o sub-location within the neighboring sub-county of Alego/Usonga.
Daniel's body is currently laid at Bondo sub-county hospital as investigations on the matter are underway.
The suspect is set to be arraigned in court on Monday next week.
