A man shocked villagers after he doused his father with petrol and set him ablaze.

The victim, 55, sustained serious injuries before he was rescued and rushed to Tenwek Mission hospital in Bomet.

Bomet OCPD Samson Rukunga confirmed the incident.

“When the father went out after getting a snack, the shop owner followed and poured some liquid we believe was petrol and lit him on fire,” said the police boss.

It is still not clear what led to the incident.

The suspect was arrested and will be charged once investigations are through.
