A middle-aged man was arrested on Monday night after he threatened to kill his parents in Kikuumini sub location, Kangonde Location, Masinga sub-county.
Confirming the incident early on Tuesday Kikuumini sub location sub-chief, Shandrack Ndungi said that the man arrived at his home very late in the night carrying a panga where he ordered them out ready to slaughter them.
Ndungi said that luckily the suspects parents were able to escape and sought help from the Nyumbakumi initiative.
The chief said that the man had on several occasions threatened to kill his parents and before the fateful day he had stayed away from home for some time.
The man was arrested and handed over to the police where he is being held at Kithimani police station as he waits to appear before the court on Tuesday.
