A 50-year-old man who threatened his wife with a panga was arrested on Thursday night in Kikuumini area, Masinga sub-county, Machakos county.
Confirming the incident, Masinga police boss Mashua Juma said that the man has on several times threatened to sell his land where he has been asking his wife to leave their home.
Juma observed that on the fateful day, the man arrived home and found his wife cooking where he fuelled up an argument asking her why she is still there yet he had already told her to pack her things and leave.
The man then went and came back with a panga ready to attack his wife. Luckily for her, the man's brother was around who came to her rescue only to be slightly injured on the arm by the man.
Juma warned residents against using violence to settle issues between them citing that it only does more harm.
"Violence doesn't solve issues, instead talk things over and settle matters, violence is used by cowards only," noted Juma.
The man was arrested by community policing officers and taken to Kikuumini police station as he awaits to appear in court as soon as investigations are over.
