A man has been arrested for assaulting his wife and mother- in-law.
The incident happened on Saturday in Bokinami village Nyacheki, Kisii County.
According to neighbors, the suspect identified as Achuti attacked and broke his wife’s right hand before he broke his mother-in-law’s left hand.
“Achuti is violent and he has been giving his wife hard times since they got married 5years ago. He sold their television and used the money to buy chang’aa and he wants noone to question him, " James Omariba said.
He added that the man’s mother-in-law came to take her daughter away but the man attacked her and broke her right hand.
Area chief, Joseph Orang’i confirmed the incident and said when he was informed about the attack and sent Nyumba Kumi officials to arrest the man.
"Achuti was arrested by Nyumba Kumi officials and surrendered to Kisii central police station for court processing. I will not condone men to assault their wives. There are various ways differences can be solved and not through fights,” said the chief.
