Police in Kisauni, Mombasa, have arrested a man who attempted to kill his three children in a bid to acquire wealth.Kisauni police boss Christopher Rotich who confirmed the arrest said the man attempted to kill the children aged eight, nine and ten years by throwing them into a septic tank in Bombolulu area on Monday.The suspect who is in police custody is said to have been advised by a witchdoctor in Kitui County to offer three people as sacrifice in order to acquire wealth.It is alleged that the suspect then hatched a plan to sacrifice his three children by throwing them into a septic tank.Rotich said police received information about the incident and managed to rescue the children from the septic tank.The OCPD said the three children were taken to the Coast General Hospital for treatment and are in stable condition.“The man came back and executed a plan on how to carry out the heinous act of murdering the three minors by throwing them into the septic tank. We have launched investigations and so far we are on the right track,” said Rotich, as quoted by Baraka FM.Rotich said the suspect will be arraigned in court as investigations continue.
