A 37-year-old man was Tuesday arrested in Matuu town for impersonating police officers.
Yatta police boss Edward Changach confirmed the incident.
Changach said the suspect went to Matuu police station on Sunday morning requesting to be issued with an abstract after he allegedly lost his documents in a lodging.
Changach said the suspect presented himself as an officer and explained his ordeal with a woman he met in Matuu who reportedly stole his documents and Sh 2000 after spending a night together.
After an investigation, it was discovered that the suspect was not a police officer and was arrested today when he arrived at the station to pick his abstract.
The suspect was held at Matuu police station awaiting charges of impersonation.
