A man in Matathia village, Kijabe ward Lari constituency was on Tuesday arrested months after he molested a 5-year-old girl.
The man, 36, went missing after he committed the act.
Odhiambo Wambia, area OCPD said the suspect who is a relative of the minor molested the girl when he carried her on a motorbike.
The suspect told the girl not to tell anyone about the incident.
Her teachers noticed the girl struggled to walk and called her mother after which the minor revealed what had happened.
"The minor reported what happened to her mother. She was taken to Tigoni sub-county hospital where she was treated and discharged", the OCPD said.
The administrator said police have been looking for the man who went into hiding when he realized he was reported to the police.
He thanked locals for helping police with information that led to his arrest.
"We arrested him after locals helped us in the search. Investigations are ongoing and the suspect will be arraigned in court anytime", he added.
