A middle-aged man was on March 30 at night arrested at Mukunike sub-location in Kaani, Kathiani sub-county after he reportedly assaulted his parents.
According to area chief Benard Mutua Muasya, the accused arrived at home late night under the influence of alcohol which drove him to assault his parents.
"The man's parents are my neighbours, so when I heard a woman crying out for help, I rushed to the place where I found that the man had already beaten up his father who was in a critical condition and was trying to take off his mothers clothes as he beat her up. He was under the influence of abusive drugs," said Muasya.
The man was arrested and taken to Machakos police station for further investigations while his father was rushed to Machakos level five hospital where he is nursing injuries.
His mother was luckily rescued given first aid before the situation went out of hand.
Muasya encouraged idle youths in the area to engage themselves in casual work and avoid abusing drugs.
