A 26-year-old man is being held at Masii police station for allegedly defiling his neighbor's seven-year-old daughter who was left home on Saturday in Kathama, Mwala sub-county, Machakos county. The suspect who was found red-handed by residents is said to have waited for the girl's mother to leave the house then went on with his plans. The irate residents frogmarched the suspect to Mbiuni police post where he was transferred to Masii police station and locked up. In an interview over the phone with the girl's mother, she narrated that she had gone for “chama" and left her little girl playing with other kids at home.She observed that she found the girl in shock and her panty(girls) stained with blood.“I was not around when the incident took place, On arriving home I found a crowd gathered at my home where I learned that my daughter had been defiled," said the girl's mother. She disclosed that the man had been a frequent visitor to her home and she couldn't fathom how he could commit such a heinous act. She said that the girl is receiving treatment at Machakos level four hospital where they had been referred.“We went to Mbiuni dispensary the doctors referred us to Mwala level four hospital where we were again referred to Machakos level five since their lab technicians Were not around," she said. The man will appear in court on Monday and be charged.
